INFORMATION
The purpose of this project is to provide Arrecife with a tourist information point with a large pedestrian and bus access area, as it will be intended, basically, for cruise ship arrivals. This implies that a large number of people will arrive at the same time, as well as several buses.
Due to the above, the requirements are different from those that a tourist information center located in the city center would have, where arrivals would be more gradual.
This makes us think of a solution for massive assistance in a few minutes.
The solution we chose is that, while the building has standard dimensions, it is equipped with an adjacent open area to accommodate a large number of tourists at once.
We design a rectangular building with a waiting room and public service area, plus men's and women's toilets, both with disabled access. And adjacent to it, we design a large semi-covered pergola, where tourists can wait both to be served by tourism and for the buses that would return them to the cruise ships. This area will have benches and a garden area. The materials we will use will be those that recall the island's architecture: stone and white plaster. We also design parking for 4 buses.
